Our founder, Grandmaster Ernesto A. Presas, passed away earlier today in his sleep in Manila. It is already November 1st in the Philippines; his date of death will be recorded as such. His body will be returned to Hiningaran where he will be buried with his father and brother.
In a year full of tragic news to the FMA community, this one by far impacts our group the most. For those of you who never had the chance to meet Grandmaster Presas, I am very sorry... I had hoped that you all would get the chance to see what I've been talking about. Those of you that did have the honor, be thankful!
Please keep the Presas family in your prayers, and the Presas legacy in your hearts.

And so, Lord Gary has posted his final ICT class pics on Facebook, as well as the Freestyle video with "London Calling" in the background.
Gary, it has been a priviledge having you as a training partner. And while I am sad to see you leave, I'm thrilled to know that you'll be spreading our art on your home turf.
I'd yell "Aye, aye!", but the last guy that did that nearly got his mohawk knocked off.
Godspeed, my friend.

Sent to me by GM Shelley Millspaugh today:
The FMA world has lost 3 great people in the last several days. GM Ben Largusa (Vilabrille-Largusa Kali), Salip Harun Ladja (Tausug Kuntao-Silat) , and now Master Christopher Ricketts (Kali Ilustrisimo).
May this be a lesson for us all; train hard and never take for granted your time with your teachers. Shelley Millspaugh Kapatiran Mandirigma
Time is something we all have only so much of. Never take for granted the gifts that we've been given... the arts, the time with real masters, and the relationships made during our training.

We may have the opportunity to host a Silat Seminar for one of Herman Suwanda's top students. GM Shelley is asking if we'd host for a gentleman that will be in the midwest at some point. In addition to Mande Muda Silat, this guy teaches Sayoc Kali.
So... if interested, let me know. Just in the planning stages right now, so I don't have dates/times/prices. Give me some feedback.

According to FB post from Frank... my favorite burger spot in the world is about to open another spot. TJ's is going to open a location at Webb and Harry. This worries me as I work right up the road. If you haven't eaten at TJ's Burger Bar, you're missing out.

Many of you are aware that most of us in the Midwest USA recently resigned our positions within IPMAF due to political happenings within the organization. It is important to state that we continue to support Great Grandmaster Presas, Grandmaster Jan-Jan Presas, Alex France, and others within the system. Walking away from our titles has no bearing on our fierce alignment with GGM Presas.
Besides... you all know how we feel about titles.

And so we begin again... we needed a fresh start and here it is. Just what the doctor ordered. Welcome friends, warriors, and rat bastards.
